Ingredients

  • 150g (6 oz) Stewing beef
  • 100g (1/4 lbs) salted beef
  • 1 blade chive (escallion)
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 225g (1/2 lbs) carrots - diced
  • 2 cups rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 red sweet pepper
  • 4-6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato

Instructions

  1. Put salted meat to soak in cold water. Drain. Wash and cut beef and salted meat into small pieces.
  2. Cook in 2 cups water, with chive and sliced onion. Add salt, if necessary. When meat is cooked, add carrots and rice, and continue cooking until rice is done. Mix in margarine.
  3. Arrange lettuce one platter. Heap cooked rice mixture in the center, and decorate with sliced tomato and sweet pepper.
