To make a Simple Tomato Sauce, you will need 2 chopped Spanish onions, 4 tbsp olive oil, 2 crushed garlic cloves, 2x400g cans chopped plum tomatoes, 2 tbsp torn basil leaves, salt, and ground pepper.

1. Gently fry the onions in the oil for 10 minutes. Add the Garlic and cook for a further 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until very soft.

2. Add the tomatoes and season. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 30 minutes or until the sauce is thick and pulpy. Add the basil and check the seasoning.

Fish fillet in blue cheese sauce

If you love Fishcakes dipped in Blue Cheese, then you’re going to enjoy this Fish Fillets in Blue Cheese Recipe.

Fish Fillets in Blue Cheese Sauce Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs fish fillets
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 clover garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
Instructions on how to cook Fish Fillets in Blue Cheese Sauce :

Clean, wash and prepare fish for marinating. Allow to stand for 2-3 hours. Pour wine and water into a skillet and bring to a boil; reduce heat, add fish and cook for abut 12 minutes.

Drain and set fish on oven-proof serving dish and keep hot. Then sprinkle fish with blue cheese. In the meantime melt butter and combine with crushed garlic over low heat. Pour over fillet and serve immediately very hot.
